"Blakesian williamnes"
Year:  2013
Country:   Israel
Label:   Heart & Crossbone
Format:  CD
Tracks:  6
Time:   68 min.
Genre:   electronic , acoustic
Style:       Ambient       Ethnic       Drone

Musical experiments of the duo started in the year of 2006 with the project named Screwdriver Set. Collaborators were young (17 years old) and ambitious to experiment with unusual sound forms, combining elements of blues, minimal glitchy electronic beats, ambient soundscapes and noise. Screwdriver Set performed few times and then broke up due to Khaytin’s migration to Israel. In these lovely six tracks by HOLISM  GAEA we have the sort of musical maneuvering that can easily win my vote. A slow, painful and just slightly dirty drone, changes, with time and the progress through the tracks, into heart breaking "ethnic" or "tribal" dirges and moments that are soft as much as they are powerful. It does not get sinister, dark and over dramatic, but stays minor and to the point, which is a wonderful choice for these two artists. They have recorded two releases but I choose witout doubt this second as my favourite. Don´t miss If you like ambient / drone landscapes. Deep.
