SKINMASK was a noise project from the Netherlands created in 2010 as a personal and creative outlet besides the own artist's graphical designer work. Filthy, noisy, insane, pure and crude industrial noise with screams and modulated / distorted voices. Nice first but sadly unique release for this project. Some parts remind me a little bit to old-school sound. There are some screams and several spoken words, are rather buried in the mix, which I think fits very well in the whole sound. Cool artwork as well, kind of classic 'art-war' stuff like for example other projects used to have. Nothing earth shattering special, but I'll most probably keep an eye on future releases. The mini-disc is excellent and inspiring but unfortunately Brian B. didn´t continue SKINMASK and he has only recorded these 5 tracks. Not yet 2 years. Then he was only 20 and also played in another b-side noise project called KULTURSTROPHE and other project much more ambient / drone oriented: NAUSOLEUM, but with both he didn´t got recorded anything. He planned to recording a long cassette for SKINMASK but cause reasons we ignore, the musical activities were stopped suddenly. The only one present Brian leave us is this excellent mini-cd which compress all his creativity in just 28 minutes. But sincerely this is highly recommended. Don´t miss.
