Label:    white ashes
Format:    cassette
Edition:    66 copies

Style:            Industrial             Modern Classical

Here we have the newest WAPPENBUND recording, released again by artist own label "White Ashes", this time on cassette format in ultra llimited copies to 66. Musically I am affraid we are not in front of his best work, because sometimes is too much "martial" or close to military rhythms and sounds. Less music and more rhythms, drums, beats, etc. Despite this it's still a good work in the vein of typical WAPPENBUND sound.

Format:   LP , cassette
Tracks:    9
Time:    45 min.
Genre:    electronic , classical

Maybe this is the hardest and noisest WAPPENBUND album recorded ever. Thing wich firstly I like to listen to it, but maybe in some tracks it fall in a kind of exagerate dramatism or tragedy sensation. Obviously the work has deep sources into the modern classical, industrial and military music, but is the first time noise is so present in all tracks. Harsh and strong rhythms, celestial voices, noise landscapes and always this perception of tension in the ambient. The label made three different formats for this release: CD, LP and "de Luxe LP" which you can see some details here below.

industrial and modern classical project founded by german musician Sven Bussler in March 1999. WAPPENBUND is the musical continuation of his previous project Ophir, and often includes collaborations with various other artists. Wappenbund plays a harsh epic music of bombastic martial drumming and neo-classical melodies, often accompanied by Sven's distorted vocals. The first material was a self-released cassette in 1999 entitled "Schlacht". In 2000, the EP "Blood And Fire" was released and marked the founding of Bussler's label Greyland Records. The first full-length "Zeitenwende" was released in 2001. While 2003 saw the release of the boxset "Preußen" and the CDr "Schlacht - The Final Chapter", which included material from the 1999 cassette aswell as new tracks. Intended as the final album of new material, "Kinder Des Lichtes" was released in 2004, and a CDr of rare and unreleased tracks entitled "Heimatsflamme" come out the following year. The project (Wappenbund) and it's label (Greyland) announced their end in 2004, although continue to be active on occasional projects. This album has already 10 years and, in opposite to loss quality, is even better when it was issue to the industrial music.

OPHIR is a defunct bombastic, modern classical, industrial project founded by German musician Sven Bussler and continued since 1999 under new name: "WAPPENBUND". This is a re-release and overview over OPHIR's work in the years 1993 - 2003, published by his own label "Greyland Records" in 2005. The two black CD´s named "Werkschau I" and "Werkschau II" come in a 7" heavy textured paper folded cover. This is not an album in fact, but a compilation with his nineteen best songs during de OPHIR periode. There are also influences of the industrial, noise and real war sounds, but in general is closer to modern classical music and more melodic than WAPPENBUND. It exist still an album and three split ep´s. But probably this compilation is the best way to know OPHIR.
