One of the best "bizarre" and the same time interesting recording of the brittish label "Beartown Records" is this debut tape of Twilit Grotto aka Mark Dicker, a multi-disciplinaire musician that has played and composed punk, folk, free improvisation, harsh noise, electronica, kraut-rock... and probably more musical styles and genres we forget now. With Twilit Grotto he started clearly into the experimental music in its pure signification and also into experimental / math / crazy... noise music (?). Rare sounds, bizarres noises, mysthical voices and choirs and atmospheres really deep into the human subconscious. What is the message or intention of Twilight Grotto? I think there is no message, no intention and even not purpouse. Simply is a creative effort to make something really different, very far from typical saturated harsh noise and also old school industrial bands. Obviously you can like or dislike Twilit Grotoo, but we can to affirm this is a work strongly original, peculiar, different. Yes, whitout doubt these word are the most adequat to describe Twilit Grotto music: origina, unique and... also a bit "illness".
