The Riots are a mod revival band from Perm (Urals) Russia. Previously known as The White Trainers Community and Bank Holiday, the band changed its name in 2009 with addition of new bass and keyboard players. Sound changes followed as well, two tone/ska influences are clearly heard in new tracks. Current lineup consists of Sasha Bolotov (vocals, guitar), Alex Shanin (drums), Konstantin Tarasov (bass) and Ilya Chebonenko (keyboards). AND THE RIOTS started almost as a joke , a mere amusement , and can now say with your head held high that have played concerts in various cities in Europe, Russia and even China and therefore have already earned a name in the scene "Mod" worldwide. Right. It is true that still have some way have only recorded one album in March ep'sy but leading the race is very fast, straight and fruitful . In the Russian social network " VK " their fanbase grows and followers every day . And they do not invent anything . But the formula of 1979 make it perfect . That middle ground in which the British Pop billing, Punk and Rhythm'n'Blues involved . His influences are not exactly 60 , but from the late 70s and early 80s . We can recall the mythical THE JAM and its charismatic Paul Weller , but also had many other highly creative bands such as Secret Affair , The Merton Parkas , The Chords, etc . Here we have attached 2 videos to give you an idea of how they sound , but more recoendable is listen to the whole vinyl.
