Frans de Waard (born 1965) has been producing music since 1984. First as Kapotte Muziek (a group that fully concentrates on recycling through musique concrete), but throughout the years, he also worked as Beequeen (with Freek Kinkelaar), Goem (with Roel Meelkop & Peter Duimelinks), Zebra (with Roel Meelkop) and various solo projects like this one here: MODELBAU, which started its musical activity in 2014 and which has recorded four albums and one EP. The recording we are in front of, is not an official release but a three live recordings in different cities: Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Nijmegen. Each track has almost thirty minutes and musically are very varied, so we can to listen to from "dry noise" to ambient, drone, field recordings or different experimental sounds. This recording was shared totally free by own Frans de Vaar in several networks and now we can to enjoy it. Sincerely I prefer this fourty five minutes recorded in live than other official albums, so I recommend to listen to it few minutes, I'm sure you will like it.

ACCORDING TO THE ARTIST : "When I was still doing Bake Records (1999-2001) I released the first volume of '[Not] Lost', which I hoped to be a series of CDRs by Kapotte Muziek of works that weren't released or unavailable for some time. But then I left Staalplaat and stopped Bake Records. Audibot from Belgium asked me to compile a longer version so I came up with this 4 CDR set. I scanned the liner notes and covers for each of them, which come as a pdf. I also corrected a mistake. Track 14 is not called 'Ruis' as indicated on the cover, but it's 'Studie Voor Tas (2)', as indicated on the original Bake Records release. This piece didn't appear in the original notes for the Audiobot release. Also I put in different versions for 'Draw A Line' and 'Draw A Circle'. I didn't like the ones in the original release, and instead use the ones that came straight from the original DAT masters. Included are early works with Howard Stelzer, a failed attempt to cross breed Kapotte Muziek and Goem and unsolicited demo's to RRRecords/Pure and Relapse.

In fact this releases was made under name of "Bake Records", which is a sublabel of "Korm Plastics" and nowadays already defunct. Anyway both labels are / were own of Frans de Waard. KAPOTTE MUZIEK was founded in 1984 by Frans de Waard, then living in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Soon he was joined by Christian Nijs, who also lived in Nijmegen. They did not actually play together, though: Christian would record all the sounds at home on cassettes and give them to Frans, who would manipulate the material in different ways (pitch-change, loops, etc.). This way of working (using 'second-hand' material and recycling it endlessly) became the core of the activities of KAPOTTE MUZIEK. In 1987 Christian left the project in favour of playing rock music in a real band. Until 1993 Frans continued the project on his own, inviting as many musicians as he knew to send in material to be recycled. This resulted in collaborations with groups like S.B.O.T.H.I., Merzbow, De Fabriek, Yeast Culture, Odal, Asmus Tietchens and many others. Gradually, the harsh territory of industrial music was left behind and other forms of electro-acoustic music were explored. KAPOTTE MUZIEK still exists as a studio-project of Frans de Waard.

Fireworks and more fireworks, as promised on this cassette release from QUEST. It was recorded in the very early hours or so of January 1st 1996. The complete title is supposed to be 'The first hour of 1996" (captured in an electronic live and real ambience). It was released as a cassette by "Korm Plastics" and later as a CD by "Bake Records". QUEST is one of the many names used by Frans de Waard for his "solo ambient music". He also did a duo with Maurice van Dongen as QST, with kinda similar stuff. He longer uses the name I think. Later in 1999 "Korm Plastics" made this recording on CD format with an artwork totally different and larger edition. Since 2013 exist also on mp3 format in Bandcamp.
