REVIEW : This album was a very pleasant surprise for me. I was just expecting to hear the sounds of electronic noises, field recordings, construction works, busy shopping areas and subway trains, however, what JAVIER PIÑAGO presents is so much more. While he certainly toils in the field noise idiom, he also brings in a great deal of musicality not often found in this genre. It’s kind of a strange but oddly fitting mish mash of styles found on labels like an strange ambient / space colliding with stuff from pure electronic and synthetic harsh noise (in fact, not much harsh but noise). I dig the collision! The whole album transpires a lot more to my expectations. On lastest works, JAVIER PIÑAGO utilizes field recordings, metal clanging and a sample of objects collising. It’s all manipulated to great degree with some trippy ebow playing over it and ending with the sputtering of a motorcycle engine. This newest album is also this plus follows with hypnotic, pulsing melody and a robotized sounds. The piece sounds like a recording of a space / noise, snorting and snarling all manipulated and processed. Buzzing insectoid sounds, some additional samples and dubstep-esque fluttering, flesh out the piece. This recording transpires seriousness, maturity and veteran. I am affraid my level of writing is not enough to describe with all details this kind of albums, but I try to convince to listen to it... and after, everyone can to judge.
