TRIEBWERK was founded in 2003 by Markus B. (alias DJ Blacksco), and completed in the spring of 2004 by the addition of Jürgen S. (alias DJ Onkel-Morbus). Establishing a project and producing something serious was the vital step after a time of experimentation. In the past, Blacksco had acted as an industrial and noise DJ, and from 1991 till 1997 he also presented techno music. For Onkel-Morbus, this was his first contact with music production and presentation. He had never come into contact with something like this before, but for a long time had always been enthusiastic about this kind of music. Onkel-Morbus contributed the band’s name and most of the samples. Both has also affirm to be fans of some industrial metal bands such as: Ministry, Fear Factory, White Zombie, Godflesh or even Sepultura, and mention few harsh noise artists like Sudden Infant or the also german musician Tainted Corrosive Mist. Strictly musical TRIEBWERK make no doubt pure power noise on the typical german school, with the original peculiarity that this duet add to its music real speeches and spoken words from the Soviet era (Lenin, Trotsky, etc.) and the same fact happen with general aesthetics, covers and artwork of its albums. TRIEBWERK  has never revealed its personal ideology, but very probably they have nothing to do with marxism or similar, is probably just a kind of attraction for the Soviet imagery, culture, symbols, factories, workers, etc. Very good release which I recommend for those who love this genre.
