It seem since 2010 exist an small tape label "Retrograd" based in the city of noise, Chicago. Few time ago this record label decided to create a Bandcamp avaible to listen to its releases or to buy it. Frankly the majority of this stuff is recommended but firstly I stopped to listen to in this newest BURIED IN THE BASEMENT recording. I have not the physical tape but the digital format, but the quality sound is excellent and we can to appreciate with all details this kind of mix between electronic noise (before recorded in other releases) plus different calm and soft sounds related to ambient, drone and space. The cover design, back and the whole artwork is also really awesome and sense with the music there is inside. According Nate Buker hymself, he started to make experimental music years ago, but some works was never released or they are very difficult to find.

This is a self-taught musician called Nate Buker who started in music making punk and hardcore in 1990. Then his band called "Civil Disobedience" and with effort and optimism the band got to record a full lenght album on "Profane Existence Records" and make many live concerts, two of them next to the british punk legends The Vibrators and Chaos UK. "Civil Disobedience" does no exist but Buker continue to play punk-hardcore in another band and since few years, he started to make harsh noise and experimental music. In this unofficial recording the artist show us his talent to do his shelf musical instruments and field recordings performed live and let the tracks inform how to arrange and perform other elements. This project got finally the name of BURIED IN THE BASEMENT and its style is frankly amazing, interesting and fun at the same time. BURIED IN THE BASEMENT become a fantastic collage mix of noise, field recordings and instruments which we could to call as "circuit bent", "shelf musical instruments" or simply "objects". Living in the Chicago, the city with the bigger noise scene of the USA, is not strange this musician has had contact with it. The whole recording has not been released nor distributed, but through his personal Soundcloud we can to enjoy with his achievements.
